10 Great decor gifts that will look good in any home

It's that time of year again... Christmas shopping! If you're at a loss for what to get your mother-in-law, your brother, or your co-worker, here are a few ideas for them and their home that will upgrade any space, regardless of their personal style.

1. Himalayan Salt Lamp

These are an all time favorite of mine. I have 3 this size, and even one night-light sized one in my bathroom. Not only do these supposedly help clear the negative ions in the air from all our electronics, but they are perfect for providing subtle light at night that doesn't mess with your night vision like blue or white lights do. Any of you that took photography in high school remember the red lights in the darkroom, right?

Bonus - buy this 2 pack, and if you don't give both as gifts, you can keep one for yourself!

2. A set of battery operated tea-light candles

This is great for the friend who loves to entertain and create a cozy atmosphere, but provides a safer option around kids, pets, or anyone who tends to forget about blowing out the candles. Also, no messy wax or smokey smell!

3. Elephant Sequin Pillow

Obviously, this may not be right for everyone (like uncle Steve), but they are really popular right now and this one is a simple white/gold color combination with an adorable elephant that would be a fun whimsical touch in your best friend's living room.

4. Apple Pie Candle

Who doesn't equate the smell of apple pie with home? Not necessarily their home, but home in general. There's a reason realtors use this scent when holding open houses!

5. Wooden Lap Desk

Most people do not use their laptops sitting at a desk or a table. Most prefer to sit on the couch or hang out in bed, and this lap desk is perfect for that. Also great is convincing the kiddos to serve you breakfast in bed (because the Elf on the Shelf will tell Santa how good they've been).

6. Stuff-n-Sit Stuffed Animal Storage

Let's face it, convincing a kid that they have too many stuffed animals is like convincing a cat it has too many cardboard boxes. This zippered bag helps to corral all of those space hogging creatures and turn them into a fun bean bag chair when they're not giving bear hugs.

7. Glow in the dark Ceiling Stars

Who says these are just for kids?

8. A faux fur throw

Luxury for everyone. Equally at home in a living room, bedroom, or man cave (it's like a trophy pelt, but without the face attached).

9. Bamboo cheese board with knife drawer

10. Fill in the blanks Family Tree Chart

For the person who says they have everything - like your grandparents who don't want any more tchotchkes or jigsaw puzzles.

So there you have it. A few last minute gift ideas that are better than anything you could pick up from the drugstore on the way to your next Christmas party.
